Lyrics In Search Of Music $10.39 I know it’s not that popular anymore;I know I may be shown the door,But I submit this book of poetryFor the whole world to see.I am a very simple man;I try to do the best that I can.My skill level is not that high;I do what I do to get by.We all try to change the world;Sometimes we don’t know where we’re hurled. But wherever that place will be;No one can take these words away from me.We live in an age that is very fast-paced;We all need to slow down yes, the whole human race.If this book can help you change your mind,Then the rest of the world won’t be far behind.Poems of love and hate, peace and war, and romanceI would like to thank you in advance;Thank you for taking the time to read my words; My deepest wish is that they lift you up to fly with the birds. Aaron Jones was inspired to begin writing poetry through the influence of his brother’s band. As the title of the collection suggests, his verse is set the form of song and is intended to be set to music. |

Jimi Hendrix – The Lyrics – 2nd Edition Hardcover Book $34.99 Jimi Hendrix was such an extraordinary guitarist, it can be easy to forget that just as much passion, soul and precision went into his lyrics. Inspired by Bob Dylan, Hendrix was a fearless lyrical innovator, willing to let his imagination guide him to landscapes hitherto unexplored within the realm of pop music. From the existential euphora of “I Don’t Love Today” to the elusive beauty of “Little Wing” to the psychedelic blues of “My Friend” to the otherworldly “1983 (A Merman I Should Turn to Be),” the lyrics of Jimi Hendrix remain among the greatest in the pantheon of rock, infused with the same inventiveness, virtuosity and courage that informed his guitar playing. Now, all of his lyrics have been gathered in one collection, including never before published songs from “Valley of Neptune.” Jimi Hendrix: The Lyrics, is an extraordinary personal book, compiled by Janie L. Hendrix. It includes numerous examples of Jimi’s handwritten lyrics, often scribbled on hotel stationary, as well as photos of Jimi accompanying every song. Here are all the words to the Hendrix classics you’ve rocked along to for years: “Purple Haze,” “Voodoo Chile,” “Foxey Lady,” “The Wind Cries Mary,” “Are You Experienced?” “Dolly Dagger,” and much more, all of them lovingly illustrated. Jimi Hendrix’s: The Lyrics will give you a glimpse of the lyricist behind the songs, a songwriter whose words were just as searing as his solos. |

The Words Of Every Song: A Novel $8.59 The Words of Every Song is a literate and original debut novel in the form of fourteen linked episodes, each centered on a character involved with the music industry in some fashion. There’s the arrogantly hip, twenty-six-year-old A&R man; the rising young singer-songwriter; the established, arena-filling rock star on the verge of a midlife crisis; the type-A female executive with the heavy social calendar; and other recognizable figures. Set in the sleek offices, high-tech recording studios, and grungy downtown clubs of New York, The Words of Every Song offers an authenticity drawn from Liz Moore’s own experience and brings an insider’s touch to its depiction of the music industry and its denizens. From the Trade Paperback edition. |

Lyrics From The Song-Books Of The Elizabethan Age $1.79 The present Anthology is intended to serve as a companion volume to the Poetical Miscellanies published in England at the close of the sixteenth and the beginning of the seventeenth centuries. A few of the lyrics here collected are, it is true, included in England’s Helicon, Davison’s Poetical Rhapsody, and The Ph[oe]nix’ Nest; and some are to be found in the modern collections of Oliphant, Collier, Rimbault, Mr. W.J. Linton, Canon Hannah, and Professor Arber. But many of the poems in the present volume are, I have every reason to believe, unknown even to those who have made a special study of Elizabethan poetry. I have gone carefully through all the old song-books preserved in the library of the British Museum, and I have given extracts from two books of which there is no copy in our national library. A first attempt of this kind must necessarily be imperfect. Were I to go over the ground again I should enlarge the collection, and I should hope to gain tidings of some song-books (mentioned by bibliographers) which I have hitherto been unable to trace |
