Nicki Minaj Songs Music mp3 videos lyrics
Any encounter with Nicki Minaj will arouse a heightened sense that there is more to her than meets the eye and inspire the desire to experience this modern day “Wonder Woman” Nicki Minaj – the name alone appeals to the decadence within us all. Whoever thinks that you can’t “have your cake and eat it too” has obviously not met Nicki. The surname Minaj is the metaphor which underscores Nicki’s empowerment to have it all and do it all! This 25 year old native of Jamaica, New York (Queens, Southside) is also a trained and accomplished writer, singer, actress and hip hop artist. Her “Wonder Woman” characteristics are embodied in the three facets of Nicki Minaj. The three elements that comprise this modern day “Wonder Woman” are Nicki the Ninja, Nicki the Harajuku Barbie and Nicki the Boss. Nicki the Ninja is a hip hop lyrical assassin, which is sometimes naughty. Nicki the Harajuku Barbie accentuates the qualities of an imaginative, fun, coquettish girly girl- fashionista…that loves all things pink. This is also the muse who ignites the transformation of Nicki’s performances as an R&B/Pop singer and future Rock Star Icon. Nicki the Boss- the ingenious austere business woman that always thinks outside of the box. Most importantly, this boss lady is never afraid to assert herself.
Career
Nicki honed her innate ability and star potential at the renowned school of performing arts which was denoted in the movie and television series FAME. It was not long before she began to attract the attention of local producers and hip hop artist in the rap genre. Reluctant at first to cast herself, as a rapper her apprehension was predicated on the thought that the industry would attempt to limit her to one thing; when she knew that she was so much more. Decidedly, Nicki accepted the challenge and embarked on the journey of a female emcee in a hip hop world dominated by males.
It was not long before her lyrical skills were sought after by the likes of Lil’ Wayne. Nicki was determined not to befall the ill-fate of so many other talented female rappers. Instead she opted to qualify her lyrical skills through the ranks of the underground mix tape circuit. Success was inevitably achieved with her critically acclaimed performance credit on the DVD entitled “The Come Up” and mixtapes like Playtime is Over, the infamous Sucka Free, and Beam Me Up Scotty. Now in demand Nicki’s role expands as a featured artist and female persona of Lil Wayne’s record label Young Money Entertainment. In addition, she has a worked with celebrated recording artists Mariah Carey, Gucci Mane, Drake, Usher, Bobby Valentino, Ludacris, Robin Thicke, Jadakiss and Sean Garrett.
The evolution of Nicki Minaj continues as she exploits her talents as a singer and explores her passion as a writer. Nicki is currently, in the studio recording her first album (due out in Fall 2010) which will feature some R&B and Pop songs. Of equal importance, she is also engaged in writing new materials for herself and other artists. Nicki is also considering several acting roles. Nicki is the previous winner of the Underground Music Awards (UMA) female artist of the year and past Southern Entertainment Awards (SEA) female mix tape artist of the year nominee.

Music and Lyrics $15.18 Rather than just slapping together some pre-existing, heartwarming tunes, the soundtrack to the songwriters-in-love rom-com Music and Lyrics features custom-written songs that lovingly send up the sounds of ’80s and 2000s pop. In fact, pop is so important to Music and Lyrics that “Pop!” is the name of the ’80s group that Hugh Grant’s character is a former member of, and Pop!’s sound is a fusion of New Romantics like ABC and Spandau Ballet mixed with a healthy dose of Wham!’s giddy but more mainstream new wave. On “Pop! Goes My Heart,” Grant’s voice bears an uncanny resemblance to ABC’s suave frontman, Martin Fry. Meanwhile, “Meaningless Kiss” — which was penned by Fountains of Wayne’s chameleon-like songwriter, Adam Schlesigner — is a terrific send-up of Wham!’s “Careless Whisper” that works because it gets all of the nuances right instead of going for obvious parody. Schlesinger also penned the soundtrack’s main love song “Way Back into Love,” which sounds especially charming in the demo duet between Grant and Drew Barrymore. Music and Lyrics also takes affectionate aim at the sound of 2000s pop with two Britney Spears-esque songs: with its twangy guitars and Middle Eastern-inspired melody, “Buddha’s Delight” plays like a more demure version of “Toxic,” while “Slam” nods to the Neptunes’ slinky, percussive production on “I’m a Slave 4 U.” Even with the inclusion of two songs that weren’t created for the movie (the Sounds’ “Tony the Beat” and Teddybears’ “Different Sound”), Music and Lyrics feels more like the soundtrack from a musical than a romantic comedy, and only a few of the songs (“Bootytown,” “Don’t Write Me Off”) feel like obvious parodies — these are the best compliments that you can pay to this kind of project. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi Performers: Andrew Wyatt – Vocals (Background); Britta Phillips – Vocals (Background); Katie Kresek – Viola; Kelly Jones – Vocals (Background); Lucy Woodward – Vocals (Background); Conrad Harris – Violin; Jack Bashkow – Saxophone; Malte Holmberg – Vocals; Martin Fry – Vocals; |

Lyrics $14.38 A 2007 best-of compilation tied a bow around Donell Jones’ four-album, decade-long spell on LaFace. It took three years for the singer to resurface with his own label (supported by E One), and while he returns with an independent release featuring little in the way of star-power support — Yung Joc guests, Mike City produces one track, and that’s about it — the majority of it convincingly picks up where 2006’s Journey of a Gemini left off. Jones has nothing to prove nor to lose, and that’s the way this album sounds. He writes, plays, and produces most of the material and gets only a small amount of instrumental assistance. The probing “Imagine That” and “Blackmail,” along with delicate-but-durable slow jams like “Love Like This” and “The Finer Things in Life,” will be enough to please Jones’’ followers. That said, when it comes to the two dance-pop detours, one of which features a lead vocal from Jones’ niece, the jury could be out until album number six. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi Performers: Donell Jones – Synthesizer Bass; Anee Fry – Vocals (Background); Jyaire Fry – Vocals (Background); Shakia Jones – Vocals (Background); Tatiana Jones – Vocals (Background); Briana Fry – Vocals (Background), Vocals; Charles Petteway – Guitar; Omar Phillips – Percussion |

Music and Lyrics [Blu-ray] $12.74 A professional collaboration between a popular lyricist and a washed-up musician takes a decidedly personal turn as the pair gradually finds their relationship developing into something much deeper in a romantic comedy directed by Marc Lawrence and starring Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant. Alex Fletcher (Grant) may have been all the rage in the 1980s, but these days he’s lucky to get a gig playing at the local county fair. Just when it seems as if things couldn’t get any more bleak for the dejected has-been rocker, reigning pop diva Cora Corman (Haley Bennett) offers Alex the opportunity of a lifetime — write and record a duet to be sung with her and watch his career receive a much-needed boost as the nostalgia-crazed public laps it up. Little does Cora realize that not only has it been years since Alex has written a song, but he’s never actually written a single lyric. Now, if he hopes to make the comeback needed to save him from a life of complete and utter obscurity, Alex will have to craft a radio-friendly hit in a matter of mere days. Luckily for Alex, his quirky plant-keeper Sophie Fisher (Barrymore) has quite a way with words and may possess just the kind of songwriting talent needed to make such a hit happen. Unfortunately the beguiling Sophie is still reeling from a recent break-up with newly famous novelist Sloan Cates (Campbell Scott), and she isn’t quite sure if she’s ready for any kind of collaboration right now — romantic or otherwise. Despite Alex’s hesitation to commit and Sophie’s reluctance to collaborate, the pair quickly discovers that a little chemistry can go a long way in healing the wounds of the past and laying the foundation for a much-deserved future of happiness and success. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi |

Jimi Hendrix – The Lyrics – 2nd Edition Hardcover Book $34.99 Jimi Hendrix was such an extraordinary guitarist, it can be easy to forget that just as much passion, soul and precision went into his lyrics. Inspired by Bob Dylan, Hendrix was a fearless lyrical innovator, willing to let his imagination guide him to landscapes hitherto unexplored within the realm of pop music. From the existential euphora of “I Don’t Love Today” to the elusive beauty of “Little Wing” to the psychedelic blues of “My Friend” to the otherworldly “1983 (A Merman I Should Turn to Be),” the lyrics of Jimi Hendrix remain among the greatest in the pantheon of rock, infused with the same inventiveness, virtuosity and courage that informed his guitar playing. Now, all of his lyrics have been gathered in one collection, including never before published songs from “Valley of Neptune.” Jimi Hendrix: The Lyrics, is an extraordinary personal book, compiled by Janie L. Hendrix. It includes numerous examples of Jimi’s handwritten lyrics, often scribbled on hotel stationary, as well as photos of Jimi accompanying every song. Here are all the words to the Hendrix classics you’ve rocked along to for years: “Purple Haze,” “Voodoo Chile,” “Foxey Lady,” “The Wind Cries Mary,” “Are You Experienced?” “Dolly Dagger,” and much more, all of them lovingly illustrated. Jimi Hendrix’s: The Lyrics will give you a glimpse of the lyricist behind the songs, a songwriter whose words were just as searing as his solos. |
